Happy New Year!

From all of us at the Upakar Foundation, happy new year to you and your loved ones. We wish you all the best in 2013.

We have been keeping busy: our Open House in November featured a play by budding artist Anu Yadav. And December marked the 7th annual South Asian Art Show, which received positive coverage in both local and national media outlets.

Thank you for your support! Talk to you in 2013.

Upakar Open House was a hit!

Thanks to all of you who attended the Upakar Foundation Open House. Nice to see a mixture of old and new faces at the event.

Our President and Chairman gave great presentations on why you should stay or become involved in the organization. The need is growing, and our current resources are limited. And Upakar welcomes new blood with open arms.

Anu Yadav presented a powerful excerpt of her upcoming play Meena's Dream. You can see the full play -- highly recommended -- on December 1 at Arena Stage and February 1-2 at UMD.
